You loved our last daytime disco, so what better way to say goodbye to this wonderful summer than by doing it all over again? Join us for another fun-filled afternoon of great music, dancing, laughter and plenty of good vibes. Whether you’re ready to hit the dance floor or simply want to come along, enjoy the music and soak up the atmosphere, everyone is welcome. It’s a chance to get together, have some fun (and maybe a wonderful plate of food from Gina’s) and give a fantastic summer the send-off it deserves.

Don’t miss out, register now to get your name on the list! Dust off those dancing shoes and join us for one more summer celebration!

Sunday Wellness & Nature Walk:  Queen’s Wood to Priory Park

With some rainy weather on the way next week, come and make the most of the weekend with a relaxed Sunday walk through some of our lovely local green spaces. We’ll meet at 11.30am at Cranbury Gate, N10 3JB (buses 134 and 43), then skirt Highgate Wood before crossing into Queen’s Wood and continuing on to Priory Park, where we’ll hopefully round things off with a coffee at around 12.45pm. Everyone is very welcome, and we hope to see you there!

Tai Chi (beginners, intermediate and returners!), EXTENDED!

Last chances don’t miss your chance to come along and give Tai Chi a try. We ask all members to register and select the dates they plan to attend to make sure we are prepared.

To attendees, please note that Heron will be on holiday so no Tai Chi on Mondays 12th or 19th October, but we might be coming up with alternate arrangements!

If you have doubts or interest, read this recent Guardian article highlighting the largest review of its kind into Tai Chi and other traditional exercises. The findings suggest they have huge benefits for both physical and mental health! See full article here: The Guardian: Largest review of its kind confirms benefits of tai chi and other Chinese exercises

NEW Knitting and Crochet Circle!

We continue our new knitting and textile craft get-together! Join us from 2pm onwards and bring along your mending, knitting, crochet or any other textile project you’re working on. We welcome people of all abilities, whether you’re experienced or just getting started!

We’ll be meeting at the wonderful Sean’s Shack café at Hornsey Town Hall, a hidden Art Deco gem tucked away just beyond the entrance to the hall, and a lovely spot to spend an afternoon crafting together. For reference, the W7 stops outside, with the 91 and 41 stopping nearby, drop by to check it!

RETURNING Batik Sessions (4 weeks)*

We are bringing back our popular Batik sessions for another four-week course! Batik is a beautiful traditional textile art using wax and dyes to create colourful patterns and designs on fabric, a wonderfully creative process to explore, whether or not you consider yourself artistic. This time, priority will be given to members who haven’t had the chance to take part before, but everyone is very welcome to register their interest. Depending on demand, we may even be able to offer additional sessions.

Please note that registration is for all four weeks, so do make sure you can attend the full course before booking your place. Come along, learn the techniques and enjoy creating your own unique textile pieces!

V&A East Museum Visit, “The Music is Black: A British Story” Exhibition*

We’re proud to offer members free tickets (usually £22.50) to The Music is Black: A British Story at V&A East! This exciting exhibition celebrates 125 years of Black British music, bringing together music, photographs, fashion and fascinating objects, including items connected to some of Britain’s most influential artists.

All of our allocated tickets have now been snapped up, but we’ll be doing our best to secure some more for this or other exhibitions of interest. Watch this space!

Cinema Club:  Sense & Sensibility (2026)

Join us for our next Cinema Club as we discover a fresh and irresistible take on Jane Austen’s beloved Sense and Sensibility. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, this charming, witty and deeply relatable adaptation brings the timeless story of love, heartbreak and sisterhood to life for a new generation. With a brilliant script by Diana Reid and a subtle modern twist, expect all the romance, humour and emotional depth of Austen’s classic, with a little indie-punk spirit thrown in. Don’t miss this delightful reimagining on the big screen!

Please note that all Cinema Club members are required to present their Cinema Club card on arrival. If you have not yet received your card or wish to join the Cinema Club officially, please contact us in advance so we can arrange this for you. Members wishing to bring friends along are also welcome, just get in touch with us beforehand so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Weekday Walk: A Daytime Walk at Kenwood

As the days become shorter, darker and a little colder, we’re introducing some weekday walks as an alternative to our evening  stroll. Following requests from members, our next weekday walk will take place on Thursday 1st October at 11am, when we’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll around the beautiful and historic Kenwood Estate, before wandering through parts of Hampstead Heath. It’s a lovely opportunity to enjoy the autumn scenery, some fresh air and, of course, good company, all in the daylight!

RETURNING Drama workshops*

Our Drama workshops are now underway at Haringey Circle, and after a great first week we’re looking forward to the second session! They’re again led by Collage Arts Artistic Director Steve Medlin. Each class explores text-based work alongside devising and creating original work, with a particular focus on helping each participant find their own “voice”. No previous experience is needed,  just an open mind and a willingness to play!

We will continue to welcome new participants, although consistency of attendance is required – so if you’re interested in joining the group, please get in touch with us for more details.

Garden Talk: Are Herbs More Than A Garnish?*

We’ll soon be heading back to Alexandra Palace Garden Centre to meet Ali for another of our famous Garden Talks. This time, we’ll be asking: Are Herbs More Than a Garnish? Ever tried growing them and failed? Or are there new ones to try perhaps?

From the familiar to the perhaps more surprising, Ali will cover the use of herbs from prehistory to modern times, and their uses as medicine, food and magic, as well as how to grow them in our gardens. Whether you’re a keen gardener or simply curious to learn something new, come along and join the conversation. Registrations to open soon!

Trent Park House: History Behind the Doors*

We’re happy to confirm our visit to Trent Park House on 13th October at 11am. Join us to see this recently opened first class exhibition. You’ll learn about this historic house, its story, character and connections to the past, and particular its use to imprison top Nazi Military Officers during World War 2, and how it was wired to spy on their conversations!  Circle members can join us for just £7, half the usual £14 ticket price. Places are limited, so early booking is recommended, and we’ll be keeping a waiting list once the visit is fully booked.
