Sunday Nature & Wellness: Parkland Walk
We warmly invite you to join us for our next walk in the beautiful surroundings of Finsbury Park and the Parkland Walk. This relaxed and sociable outing is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet fellow members, and take in the green spaces of North London, with something for everyone regardless of pace. Our Amblers and Strollers can enjoy a gentle loop around Finsbury Park itself (1–1.5 hours), while our Striders will head up the Parkland Walk at a brisker pace before rejoining the group at the café, with all walkers finishing together. With plenty of shade from the trees on this route, it’s an ideal choice for whats expected to be a very warm day. We recommend comfortable walking shoes, a bottle of water, and light breathable clothing, along with sun protection such as a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, plus a light waterproof layer just in case. Whether you’re joining for gentle exercise, fresh air or good company, we look forward to welcoming both new and returning members for another of our a friendly Sunday meet-ups.
V&A Highlights Tour with Pam, a Circle member!
Join us for a special member-led highlights tour of the Victoria and Albert Museum, led by Pam of Haringey Circle and an experienced V&A volunteer guide. This is an ideal introduction for a first visit, offering a relaxed 45 minutes to an hour exploring some of the museum’s most iconic “star objects,” with time for questions and discussion throughout. You can join from Wood Green at 1:10pm to journey to Knightsbridge and walk 5-10 mins , otherwise we will meet directly at the main Cromwell Road entrance by the Chihuly chandelier, where the tour will begin with a brief introduction to the museum before moving through key highlights. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to enjoy tea together in the garden, weather permitting. We look forward to welcoming you for this informal and engaging visit.
Returning: Alexander Technique with Tanya!
Tanya is back with her very popular Alexander Technique class but for a limited period, offering a special opportunity for anyone who missed this before, and is now curious to try. The Alexander Technique Alexander Technique is a gentle, practical approach that uses a series of guided exercises and awareness practices to support improved posture, reduce muscular tension, and encourage more ease and efficiency in everyday movement.
This time we are in a lovely new venue: Wolves Lane Centre, Wolves Lane, London N22 5JD, (W4 stops outside) with sessions running on Tuesdays from 11:30am–12:30pm on 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th June. Please note that, there is a suggested contribution of £5 per session, payable directly to Tanya. We look forward to welcoming members wanting to learn how to use this fascinating method.
Drama Sessions (regular sessions, continuing!)
Come along to try our weekly drama sessions with Collage Arts, offering a fun and creative space to try something new, meet others, and build confidence in a relaxed and supportive environment. Together, participants work towards a shared performance project inspired by local stories and experiences. Led by experienced facilitator Steve Medlin, the sessions encourage creativity, self-expression, and connection with others. No previous drama experience is needed, and there is no pressure to perform in front of an audience, just an opportunity to enjoy the process, explore your creativity, and take part at your own pace.
Cinema Club: Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day (2026)
Join us for Night & Day, a witty and charming adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s funniest novel. This delightful un-romantic comedy follows the spirited astronomer Katharine Hilbery, who is determined to avoid the expectations of love and marriage at all costs. Set against the beautiful backdrop of London in 1910, the film blends humour, intelligence, and social satire as it explores a world shaped by scientific progress and the decline of Edwardian patriarchy. Featuring a wonderful ensemble cast and a refreshingly contemporary tone, Night & Day is a captivating celebration of wit, rebellion, and reluctant romance. As Hey U Guys describes it, the film “brings wit, rebellion and reluctant romance to the big screen”, so do not miss it!
Wildlife Discovery Walk: Lea Valley Country Park – rescheduled date!
Join member Jaki for this rescheduled Wildlife Discovery Walk through the beautiful upper lakes of Lea Valley Country Park. We’ll meet at the Weaver Line entrance of Seven Sisters station to catch the 11:31 train to Cheshunt before setting off on a scenic walk at a slightly quicker pace, exploring the park’s lakes, nature reserves and wildlife habitats, with a visit to the Wildlife Discovery Centre along the way. The walk will last approximately two hours before returning by train. A packed lunch is recommended, with picnic tables and toilet facilities available during the outing. If you enjoy fresh air, nature and good company, we’d love you to join us for this long-awaited event.
Afternoon Tea – and Houseplant talk – at the Alexandra Palace Garden Centre
Join us for afternoon tea at the Alexandra Palace Garden Centre, combining great company, and an engaging talk on houseplants and their care. A free hot drink and a discount on plants is on offer alongside this chance to learn from knowledgeable experts, pick up practical tips on keeping your houseplants healthy and thriving. Whether you’re a seasoned plant lover or simply curious about gardening, the session promises to be both informative and enjoyable. With time to browse the garden centre, chat with fellow members and ask questions, this promises to be afternoon in the Glasshouse Cafe or indeed on the terrace in the sun. Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment.
