Haringey Circle Weekly Update: New Activities and Events!

Dear members,

We have another selection of activities coming up over the next few weeks, including our regular weekly sessions, social get-togethers, walks and other events. There’s also plenty more to look forward to in September, with a range of activities already planned and more to come!

As always, do remember to register, and register just once please (!) for each event you’re planning to attend. Registering helps us keep track of numbers and plan properly, even for events that are open to all members. If an event requires confirmation of your place, this will be clearly marked with an asterisk (*) and stated in the event information; for all other events, you may not receive a confirmation email, but we still really appreciate you letting us know you’re coming!

Take a look at what’s coming up below, and we hope to see you soon!

Sunday Wellness & Nature Walk: Woodberry Down

The weather is looking perfect for this Sunday’s walk, with sunshine and temperatures reaching around 24°C, ideal walking weather! Come along and enjoy a relaxing wellness walk through the beautiful Woodberry Wetlands, with peaceful scenery, fresh air, and great company. As always, we’ll make a stop for some coffee and a friendly chat along the way. Come and enjoy a lovely Sunday morning outdoors, we’d love to see you there!

Tai Chi (beginners, intermediate and returners!), EXTENDED!

Following the popular launch of our Tai Chi sessions, we’re pleased to announce that we are extending the sessions into September. Moving forward, we ask all members to register again and select the dates they plan to attend. This is important so we can plan each session properly and ensure we have the right numbers.

The sessions with instructor Heron are suitable for beginners, intermediate participants and those returning from previous sessions. Tai Chi can help improve balance, flexibility and strength, while supporting wellbeing, reducing stress and promoting relaxation. After the class, why not stay for a coffee or refreshment at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre café/bar? Please note, no class on bank holiday Monday 31st Aug.

Summer Evening “Hidden Haringey” stroll.

Following the trend of the evening walks, we’re changing things up a little and heading out to discover some lesser known leafy parts! To find out where, join us for another and maybe one of the last, relaxed, summer evening circular walks. We’ll keep things comfortable and sociable, walking at an easy pace and enjoying a different side of the area. We’ll keep the walk relaxed and go at a pace that works for everyone and this time, dogs are very welcome, so bring your four-legged friends along! 🐾

There are pubs with toilets and bus stops along the route & at either end of the route. If you fancy staying on for a drink afterwards, but that’s completely optional. We’ll aim to have everyone on their way home by 8pm.

Cinema Club: Tony (2026)

Next week’s film is Tony (2026), starring Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers) as a 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain. A young Bourdain travels to Provincetown and stumbles into the chaotic world of a restaurant kitchen, setting off a summer that will shape the course of his life. Set in the summer of 1975, the film follows his journey from an arrogant, rudderless college student washing dishes in a chaotic seafood kitchen to discovering his lifelong and international passion for food and culinary culture.

Please note: outside food and drinks are not permitted in the venue. As you know, Arthouse loves our Circle members, but the venue is also a café and bar, with a wide range of food, snacks and drinks available to purchase. We’d really appreciate it if everyone could respect this. Many thanks for your understanding! Additionally, if you’re coming with friends, just let the Haringey Circle volunteer on site know when you arrive so we know who you’ve brought along.

August Bank Holiday Lunch

As our tradition goes, we’re heading back to The Mossy Well this next Bank Holiday! Join us for lunch, friendly conversation and plenty of laughs as we continue one of our favourite regular get-togethers. Whether you’re catching up with old friends or meeting new ones, everyone is welcome, come along and enjoy the Bank Holiday with great company. We would love to see as many of you as possible!
